Training Software

Software that is open source and available on multiple platforms has been selected for training purposes, and currently, Urdu localization is underway for:

SeaMonkey
An open source, multi platform, complete Internet suite including a browser, an email client, an address book, an IRC chat client and a simple HTML editor. It is available in a number of languages and SeaMonkey Urdu (ur-PK) localization is under progress at CRULP. The GUI localization of the SeaMonkey (1.1.10) browser, email client, address book and HTML editor is complete and available in the form of an Urdu language pack at the SeaMonkey Website. Currently, the help files are being translated and future work will include localization of the IRC client.

OpenOffice.org
An open source, multiplatform office software suite including word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, graphics and databases. It is available in many languages and OpenOffice Urdu (ur-PK) localization is in progress at CRULP. The GUI localization (for all applications) is near completion (not available yet). Future work will include localization of help files.

Psi
An open source, multiplatform instant messaging client, available in many languages. Psi Urdu localization is under progress at CRULP, and is near completion (not available yet). Currently, work is being done on some issues pertaining to layout and text direction.
