Center for Research in Urdu Language
Processing (CRULP),
National University of Computer & Emerging Sciences (NUCES),
established specifically to conduct research and
development for computing in Urdu & Regional languages
of Pakistan (in Speech Processing, Computational
Linguistics and Script Processing), is executing the
Urdu Localization project. This project is sponsored by
Electronic Government Directorate (EGD)
of ministry of Information Technology, as Part of
E-Government Initiative that envisages services delivery
to citizens as the aim of Government. The Urdu
Localization Project has three components each of which
involve the development of a technology and an
application that uses this technology. These components
